Strandhill's Waste Water Treatment Upgrade Works Commence
€4 Million Investment by Irish Water.
It has been confirmed this week that the eagerly awaited €4 Million upgrade works have now commenced on the 'Strandhill Water Treatment Plant' as a part of an overall €16 Million investment in County Sligo by Irish Water.
The works in Strandhill will increase the capacity of the existing plant from 1,500 PE to 3,700 PE which will open the village up to new development for years to come.
It will include the construction of new inlet works, a new storm water holding tank, a new biological treatment area, a new control building, a new sludge thickening facility and the upgrade of the caravan park pumping station.
